Week 9 of the NFL season delivered plenty of drama as the Los Angeles Rams continued their old winning ways with a third straight win, clawing back to .500 after a rough 1-3 start. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions keep roaring, now sitting at an impressive 7-1—are they truly the league’s best team?
With the season winding down, we get a better glimpse of who has a shot at the playoffs. Which team can be trusted more to make a postseason impact: Atlanta or Washington? While some teams are finding their rhythm, the Dallas Cowboys continue to stumble, adding another chapter to their disappointing season.
The Rams are relevant again, can they stay healthy?
The Los Angeles Rams have fought their way back to .500 after a rough start, thanks in large part to a young, athletic, stingy defense that’s allowed under 20 points in each of their last three wins.
The return of Cooper Kupp and the continued breakout of Puka Nacua have electrified the passing game, creating matchup nightmares for defenses. On the ground, Kyren Williams is emerging as one of the league’s most versatile running backs, adding balance and explosiveness to the Rams' attack. Before last week's game, Williams had ran for a TD in 10 straight games. With momentum on their side, the Rams are suddenly back in the playoff conversation and also have a real chance to win the NFC West.
Are the Detroit Lions the NFL's Best Team?
I never thought I would see the day I make this statement, but the Lions are the best team in the NFL right now. Yes the Chiefs are 8-0, but if these two teams played in a regular season game today I would choose Detroit. When it comes to a Super Bowl setting between these two, my opinion would probably change. Dan Campbell is an absolute rockstar, changing everything about the Lions organization in a positive way. Jared Goff is ballin, Running Back's Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery have shown to be an unstoppable 1-2 punch. Their defense could use some more work, but it is a long season and things are looking up for the Detroit Lions.
Who do you trust more, Atlanta or Washington?
This is a tough question, should both teams make the playoffs, which team do you trust to make it deeper? I have to take the Atlanta Falcons here. The answer is simply because of defense. I trust the Falcons Defense to make a big play or stop, much more than Washington's. A bad run defense is always exposed in the playoffs, that will be Washington's downfall.
