Aaron Rodgers looked like the old Aaron Rodgers on Thursday night against New England. The Bengals nightmare scenario has come to fruition, the Ravens get back on track, the Steelers stay undefeated, and more.
Jets fans are happy!
Aaron Rodgers was in complete control of this game from start to finish. The Jets QB completed 27 of his 35 passes for 281 yards and 2 TD's. This is exactly what Jets' fans have wanted from Day 1 with Rodgers. The Jets defense held the Patriots to just 98 passing yards and 78 rushing yards, New England couldn't get anything going. Drake Maye was thrown into the fire in the second half and threw 8 times, completing 4 of them for 22 yards. Will the Jets take another step forward next week against the Broncos?
Is the Bengals season over?
The Washington Commanders had the ball on offense 6 times, they scored 5 TD's, kicked 1 FG and put up 38 points. That is the recipe for disaster, the Bengals defense did not come off of the field one single time. The Commanders did not punt the ball a single time. The Bengals offense also did not punt the ball, put up 33 points, yet still lost. Joe Burrow and the offense did their part, but the defense failed them. It is safe to say this defense is not helping Cincinnati win a Super Bowl anytime soon. A win over Carolina next week won't mean much, unless they can defeat Baltimore the following week.
Who will be the first Head Coach to be fired?
The Jacksonville Jaguars look horrendous in all aspects of football. Dating back to last season, Trevor Lawrence has lost 7 straight games. With a loss to Houston next week the Jaguars could potentially be the only winless team remaining. Pederson has lost the locker room 4 games into the season, their franchise QB who signed a $275 Million contract extension this past offseason looks lost. Is it Lawrence or the coaching staff? Something needs to change in Jacksonville ASAP. Doug Pederson is easily my pick to be the first coach fired in the NFL this season.
LA Rams save their season.
A week after losing Kupp and Puka Nakua, losing by 31 points, down two scores, the outcome looked bleak for LA. The Rams were down 21-7 to the 49ers in the third quarter with all momentum leaning San Fran's way. The defense made plays, Matthew Stafford was Matthew Stafford, and RB Kyren Williams scored all three TD's for LA in the comeback win. Will the Rams carry this momentum into Chicago next week? Or was this a fluke?
