As the NBA Playoffs unfold, the world of basketball is ablaze with excitement, anticipation, and drama. From buzzer-beaters to unexpected upsets, each game brings forth a new wave of headlines that captivate fans around the globe.
What in the world is wrong with Jayson Tatum?
Jayson Tatum is shooting a playoff career low 40% from the field. Another abysmal shooting performance against the Cavaliers in Game 2 leads to a 118-94 blowout loss. Tatum is also shooting 27% from 3 during these playoffs. We expect much, much more from him. As the expectations for Tatum rise, he tends to take a step back and it is very disappointing to see. The Celtics will finish the season no where close to their ultimate goal if Tatum continues this.
Will Luka Doncic's sprained knee doom the Mavericks?
Luka Doncic has been dealing with a sprained knee throughout the playoffs. Luka has not been his usual dominant self which may be due to his ailing knee. Kyrie Irving has been spectacular alongside Luka minus Game 2 vs. OKC. Luka finished the night with 29 points on 11-21 shooting with 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Kyrie logged 9 points on 2-8 shooting. Safe to say it was an off-night for Kyrie, I expect him to bounce back. This will be an exciting series.
Ant-Man and the Timberwolves
Wow, the Timberwolves have been more than impressive. They are now 6-0 in the postseason and lead the defending champion Denver Nuggets 2-0 headed into Minnesota. Their defense is probably the best in the league anchored by this year's Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert. MVP Nikola Jokic is having quite a difficult time going up against Gobert, Naz Reid, and Karl Anthony-Towns. The main man is Anthony Edwards, averaging 33-7-6 in these playoffs with multiple 40 point games. The T-Wolves are legit title contenders.
How far can the injured Knicks go?
The New York Knicks have battled and battled to earn their victories, but that comes at a cost. Coach Tom Thibadeau has a history of overplaying his starters. Josh Hart has played multiple games of 48+ minutes (which means he didn't come out once), Jalen Brunson averages over 40 minutes per game along with OG Anunoby. Brunson is questionable for Game 3 against Indiana with a foot injury and OG Anunoby is out for the game with a hanstring injury. The Knicks have also lost Mitchell Robinson and Juluis Randle for the season. How long can this last?
