As the NFL Divisional Round Playoffs approach, football fans across the nation are gearing up for a weekend filled with thrilling matchups and high-stakes football action. Last weekend's games were not the closest games (excluding Rams vs. Lions). The Chiefs took care of the Dolphins in -30 degree weather, the Texans continue to roll with CJ Stroud, the Packers stunned the Cowboys, and the Lions got their first playoff win in 32 years. With eight teams vying for a spot in the conference championships, expect some intensely close games this weekend.
NFL Divisional Round– Predictions
Saturday
The sensational rookie season for CJ Stroud and head coach DeMeco Ryans rolls on. The Texans thrashed the Browns and now head into Baltimore to play the best team in football. Can the Texans do it? I highly doubt it. Although Lamar Jackson hasn't had much playoff success, I expect the Ravens to take care of business.
Prediction - Ravens: 31 Texans: 17
Jordan Love and the Packers offense are on fire. The Packers handed the Cowboys their only home loss of the season in the Wild Card Round last week leaving their fans stunned and disappointed as always. Poor Cowboys fans. Packers are now 6-0 all time vs Dallas in the playoffs. The 49ers have looked unstoppable all year and have dominated the NFC. Will the Packers young defense be able to stop the 49ers high-powered offense? This would be an upset for the ages if the Packers can pull this off.
Prediction: 49ers: 36 Packers: 24
Sunday
You truly never know what you are going to get from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are the definition of a Wild Card team. They could show up to annihilate you (last week vs. Philly) or they will get annihilated themselves. Baker could throw for 350 and 3 TD's or 130 and 3 INT's. You don't know what you are going to get. This week, I am going to guess it is the bad week for Tampa. The Detroit crowd will get to Tampa early and cause miscommunications left and right. The Lions will get out to an early lead and never look back.
Prediction: Lions: 30 Buccaneers: 16
The game of the week. Potentially the game of the year. What a matchup here, the Bills have beating waiting a few years to get their revenge. Mahomes is 2-0 vs the Bills in his playoff career. This is his first road playoff game as well (minus three Super Bowls). Mahomes is such a great QB that I'm not sure being on the road will affect him as much as people think. The great's know how to play under pressure. That being said, I think the Bills get their revenge. They will want it more than Kansas City, Josh Allen will have a memorable game in a close one and the Bills ride to the AFC championship in Baltimore.
Prediction - Bills: 27 Chiefs: 23
