Baseball

· Astros defeat Braves in 7 games.

This World Series is filled with hitters that have been on absolute fire. The pitchers are in for a long grueling series. Since the trade deadline on July 30th, the Atlanta Braves have had the best record in the league at 44-22. Once Ronald Acuna Jr. tore his ACL, the Braves acquired Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall, Jorge Soler, and Joc Pederson. These 4 have catapulted the Braves into the World Series behind a stellar playoff run. The Braves pitching staff has allowed an ERA of 3.63 in the postseason, but they have run into a problem here in Houston. The Astros finished off the Boston Red Sox with major adjustments in the ALCS by outscoring them 21-1 over the final 26 innings. Yuli Gurriel won this year’s batting title by hitting .319, and teammates Michael Brantley and Kyle Tucker finished in the top 10. Tucker, Alvarez and José Altuve all hit at least 30 home runs, not to mention Yordan Alvarez is coming off an ALCS where he was batting .522. The Astros bullpen has been dominate all postseason and I expect that to continue in the World Series. This will be a fun series to watch, as good as Atlanta is, Houston is just better. I have a hard time picking against the Astros.

· World Series MVP: Yordan Alvarez

Yordan Alvarez won the ALCS MVP against the Red Sox by batting .522, with three doubles, a triple, a home run, six RBI and seven runs in the six-game series, recording at least one hit in every game. Alvarez is on fire and there is no slowing him down. He will continue his domination.
